I. Introduction

Solina Centre for International Development and Research (SCIDaR) is an indigenous non-profit institution that works to accelerate positive health, social and economic reforms through high-quality program design and implementation, capacity building, implementation of scientific research and knowledge generation, as well as agenda setting and stakeholder convening across human development sectors.

II. Description and Objectives

The Business Development Analyst will be responsible for conducting regular analysis and research on opportunities available to SCIDaR. He/She will also be required to keep a detailed repository of information needed to facilitate the leadership team’s client base and business growth efforts.

III. Responsibilities

  • Review current and prospective contracts and proposals. Create a repository of information available on them;
  • Work with the leadership team to review SCIDaR’s financial data to set business growth goals and strategies;
  • Conduct internal and external research, gather data and prepare reports required for current and prospective program proposals;
  • Monitor industry news, publications, and reports to stay abreast of developments that may impact SCIDaR;
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and other materials for prospective clients;
  • Support the management of existing client relationships by conducting regular check-ins, gathering feedback, and identifying opportunities for optimizing services or engagements;
  • Work with leadership KML unit and other critical stakeholders to develop metrics and tools to monitor and assess the business development efforts of SCIDaR;
  • Analyze financial data and performance metrics to track progress against business development goals and identify areas for improvement or optimization;
  • Execute other tasks as required.

IV. Required competencies

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and extract actionable insights;
  • Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft Office and desktop publishing software;
  • Expert level written and verbal communication skills;
  • Exceptional organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail;
  • Excellent judgment in a variety of situations and a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making skills;
  • Very strong emotional maturity, interpersonal skills, professionalism and multi-stakeholder management skills;
  • Able to maintain a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information;
  • Highly resourceful team player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and achieve high-performance goals in a fast-paced environment.

V. Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university;
  • 2+ years of experience in business development, market research, or strategic consulting, preferably within the healthcare industry;
  • Strong research skills with proficiency in the use of data analytics tools;
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry trends, regulations, and key stakeholders is a plus.
