Capacity building services

At SCIDaR, one of our core deliverables is to develop a sustainable system using people-centred training to provide state-level technical assistance and enable the government agencies to fulfil their core mandate of strengthening primary healthcare systems nationwide.

NPHCDA Technical Support Program

Solina currently provides technical assistance (TA) to the NPHCDA to design, implement, and institutionalize a structured approach for effective identification and delivery of technical support to the State Primary Health Care Development Agencies (SPHCDAs) for improved PHC system and service delivery.

As part of the support, Solina also instituted a Leadership Development Academy (LDA) as a long-term measure to ensure an in-house system to continually build the leadership and management skills of NPHCDA staff to lead and coordinate TA for effective PHC service delivery effectively.

DHPRS Capacity Strengthening Program

Solina currently provides technical assistance to the DHPRS to develop and implement a medium-term institutional capacity strengthening roadmap to strengthen the capacity of the department to effectively deliver on its mandates. This support includes conducting a baseline assessment to identify capacity gaps across domains relevant for the effective functioning of the department, developing a costed plan to fill the gaps sustainably, mobilizing and galvanizing resources towards executing the plan, and providing technical assistance to implement the plan.

National Malaria Elimination Program (NMEP - ICS)

Solina currently provides technical assistance to help reposition the National Malaria Elimination Program (NMEP) to effectively and sustainably drive the achievement of the elimination targets in Nigeria. This is in line with the institutional capacity strengthening strategic pillar of the Foundation’s investment in Nigeria’s malaria programming, which seeks to strengthen the leadership and management capacity of the NMEP and SMEPs.
