I. Introduction
Solina Centre for International Development and Research (SCIDaR) is an indigenous non-profit institution that works to accelerate positive health, social and economic reforms through high-quality program design and implementation, capacity building, implementation science research and knowledge generation, as well as agenda-setting and stakeholder convening across human development sectors. Our work seeks to benefit primarily disadvantaged and under-served populations. We implement transformation programs in Nigeria and are currently expanding our footprint to several Sub-Saharan African countries. We are building a competent world-class management team to enable us to sustainably achieve our strategic growth objectives.
Solina Centre for International Development and Research (SCIDaR) is currently supporting the WHO AFRO region with innovations aimed at improving the quality of polio outbreak response activities in focus countries.

II. Description and Objectives
The Program Associate will provide technical and operational support for the execution of assigned SCIDaR programs. This will involve the day-to-day execution of program workflows and provision of oversights to Program Analysts executing assigned program activities. S/he will bear responsibility for all workstream deliverables.


III. Technical Responsibilities – Program Support
a. Program implementation
i. Support day-to-day execution of the program activities;
ii. Lead a program workstream and escalate program implementation challenges to Program Engagement Manager;
iii. Gather and analyze information, formulate and test hypotheses, develop and communicate recommendations;
iv. Ensure close collaboration and coordination with cooperating partners to guarantee smooth implementation of activities and achievement of outcomes;
v. Lead routine technical problem-solving sessions with the primary client and relevant stakeholders to brainstorm implementation challenges and align on decisions to guide the path forward.

b. Program monitoring and reporting
i. Regularly monitor and review program activities to ensure quality, accountability, and contractual compliance with agreed deliverables and performance indicators as per the scope of work;

ii. Contribute to the preparation of monthly/quarterly technical;
iii. Participate in structured mid-term and end-term program evaluations;
iv. Coordinate routine cleanup and archiving of all program documentation.

IV. Required Competencies

vii. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment;

ix. Strong logical reasoning and creative thinking skills;
x. Results-oriented performer, experienced in developing and tracking self and team with clear KPIs.


b. Education and experience
i. Academic training: Relevant graduate-level degree (International Development, Applied Sciences, and Technology, Policy and Strategy Development, Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Management or similarly relevant field;
ii. Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience implementing development programs; past effective leadership experience. In strategy, health systems strengthening in a major consulting firm is a plus

c. Language requirement
i. Candidates must be bilingual. Read/Write/Speak at the advanced level of English and Portuguese
