Daniel joined the SCIDaR family in 2018, and since then, making an impact has been a major drive and the biggest motivation for him. SCIDaR provided him with the opportunity to be part of various life-saving projects that improve socio-economic and health outcomes for the vulnerable and underserved communities in Nigeria. The opportunity has further helped his rapid growth in problem-solving, leadership and team management, communication and data analysis skills.
Currently, Daniel works on the National Malaria Elimination Program- Institutional Capacity Strengthening (NMEP-ICS). A program that aims to strengthen the leadership and management capacity of NMEP managers to coordinate and manage the malaria elimination response in Nigeria and achieve its vision of a malaria-free Nigeria in tandem with its mission to provide equitable, comprehensive, cost-effective, efficient and quality malaria services.
Prior to this, he supported Yobe state and six (6) other states under the UK-funded LAFIYA project to monitor the quality of their Covid response, supporting the development and design of strategies such as community testing amongst others with data-driven evidence while ensuring the continuous delivery of essential services across PHCs.
On the Northern Nigeria Routine Immunization Strengthening Program (NNRISP), he supported Bauchi state and the other five (5) MoU states to strengthen the financial management system for the RI program to ensure judicious use of the funds and drive financial accountability.
