He joined Solina in 2014 as a pre-intern with a lot of curiosity, awaiting mobilization for the Nigerian Youth Service Corps (NYSC). A few weeks on the job, he was able to navigate through the support of SCIDaR’s young and talented workforce. Everything was new to him and very organized. He did not doubt that the organisation was set up to brew world-class professionals.
For Leke, it means a lot to develop, support others to develop, and observing growth in real-time as we craft and deploy solutions to problems of human capital and socio-economic importance highlights my experience at SCIDaR. In a short span on the job, he progressed to an Associate Principal and saw shorter-tenured Interns steadily grow into Senior Associates and Managers. SCIDaR recognizes and rewards competencies regardless of tenure.
He works with multiple teams to identify critical gaps within the health sector, prioritize interventions with high impact potential, galvanise needed resources, and provide implementation support to the anchoring institution to accelerate the relevant institutional mandates’ achievement. The design and implementation of capacity development interventions for health programs also form part of the work’s core.
Leke lead a handful of SCIDaR’s portfolios, geared towards developing public sector human capital and strengthening the health systems in Africa.
