Graduating with a first-class in Chemical engineering in 2017, Onajite joined the SCIDaR team during his youth service and has continued to grow within the organisation in the last five years. During this period, Onajite has met and worked with some of the most diligent and intelligent colleagues anyone can ask for. The organisation has and continues to support his drive to work inclusively, hone core consulting skills and maintain a fast-paced career trajectory, while also providing opportunities to make valuable contributions to help Nigeria and by extension Africa achieve universal health coverage goals.
Onajite provides technical support to Donors and Senior government officials to design and implement innovative solutions to address primary health care challenges. He has implemented interventions with a focus on Health System Strengthening, Institutional Capacity Building, Health Financing and Economics.
Some of these interventions include; support to the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) to design and implement the Technical Support Program (TSP) and institutionalise a Leadership Development Academy (LDA) to develop the core competencies of NPHCDA mid-level staff; design and implementation of the adaptation and costing plan for the Minimum Service Package for PHC with a detailed fiscal space analysis for investment decisions; support to the NPHCDA to review of the Nigeria Ward Health System policy and developing a 10-year cost of primary health care implementation in Nigeria from 2020 – 2030, and so on.
At the organisational level, Onajite supports staff hiring and mentoring processes and business case development. Onajite currently leads a team of consultants and government stakeholders to implement an agency-wide staff optimisation initiative at the NPHCDA.
