About Teslim

Teslim Aminu is a management consulting professional with over seven (7) years of experience in strategy development and execution, health systems strengthening, program design, and management.
With a social science background and a degree in urban and regional planning; Teslim over the years has developed a passion for consulting, opting to switch professions to actualize his new “calling”. Teslim is easygoing and always takes a very objective stance. His entrepreneurial skill sets are sound and intend to venture into a few businesses and startups.
Before joining SCIDaR, Teslim worked on road mapping projects for Lagos state. Ultimately, he is also enthusiastic about improving socio-economic and health outcomes for the vulnerable and underserved communities globally and has a keen interest in developing skills needed for top-level management in international development.

Working at SCIDaR

Teslim Aminu joined SCIDaR as a pre-intern in 2015 and has accelerated to become an engagement manager within the organization. He has been able to build his analytical and problem-solving capabilities and has demonstrated this in his years of working with the national and sub-national stakeholders to conduct health systems diagnostics, intervention design that has guided multimillion donor investments in interventions to solve PHC systems challenges in over twelve (12) states in the country. He has worked on multiple projects with a focus on health systems strengthening, routine immunization, health systems diagnostics, health financing, PHC demand, and capacity building across the national and sub-national levels in Nigeria. Teslim works with and maintains relationships with governmental and non-governmental stakeholders at all levels in the health development sector to conduct diagnostics and design innovations to solve identified problems. He provides technical support for health systems strengthening efforts at the national and sub-national levels, building the leadership and management competencies of the NPHCDA and NMEP staff to provide technical support to the 36+1 sub-national agencies to be able to drive and achieve the desired program outcomes.
He leads client engagements and partakes in the organization’s business development, working with a select team to expand the organization’s portfolio. He also partakes in the talent hunt and screening of potential staff to expand the pool of competent staff available within the organization while putting in a deliberate effort to build the capacity of the existing staff within the organization.  He currently leads a team of twelve (12) consultants across two (2) programs, providing program management support and ensuring the high-impact interventions achieve the desired outcomes.
