What will it take to scale digital innovations across African health systems?
From June 26–27, 2025, SCIDaR joined digital health leaders across Africa at the 5th Africa Digital Health Summit in Lagos. With the theme, “Strengthening Health Systems through Digital Innovations, Data and AI,” the summit emphasized the urgency of moving beyond pilots to build resilient, interoperable health systems that work at scale.
Represented by six team members, SCIDaR contributed to the event through a scientific abstract presentation, a high-level panel session, and distribution of its digital health booklet, From Innovation to Impact.
Our work drew attention from public and private sector stakeholders; especially our research on equitable telehealth models in Lagos, presented by King Ewa-Henshaw, Manager at SCIDaR.
In a panel on digital health partnerships, SCIDaR’s Principal, Oluwaleke Jegede joined other thought leaders to call for stronger government ownership, cross-sector collaboration, and locally led solutions.
The summit reinforced what we believe: Africa’s digital health future must be inclusive, data-powered, and anchored in local innovation. SCIDaR remains committed to being a trusted driver of that future.
