Introducing SCIDaR’s new CEO

On behalf of the SCIDaR Board and the entire management team, we are delighted to introduce our new Executive Director/CEO, Dr Uchenna Igbokwe. Uchenna replaces Dr Muyi Aina who transitioned out of the organisation following his appointment as the Executive Director/CEO of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency.

Uche has been a vital part of our organisation since its inception and has demonstrated exemplary leadership, commitment, and vision. Uche brings over a decade of experience designing and implementing health systems strengthening programs, focusing on institutional capacity building, health financing, supply chain management, and private sector engagement.

Uche currently leads SCIDaR’s portfolio of primary healthcare systems strengthening programs spread across Nigeria and several other African countries, focusing on child health and immunization, maternal health, family planning, and malaria. Recently, Uche has been instrumental in growing SCIDaR’s digital health portfolio, partnering with digital health innovators to expand electronic medical records, telehealth services, and access to finance for private health providers. Uche has also served various executive functions in SCIDaR, overseeing the talent strategy and building the knowledge management and research functions.

He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and an MSc. International Health Management from the Imperial College Business School, London.

We are confident that with his deep industry knowledge, passion for SCIDaR’s mission, strategy vision, and incredible work ethic, Uche will lead SCIDaR into her new phase of growth and impact.

We appreciate your continued support and trust in our organization and look forward to embarking on this exciting next phase of our journey together.
