Preeclampsia and eclampsia (PE/E) are serious hypertensive disorders affecting pregnant women, posing significant risks to both maternal and fetal health. The Ferring Grants Programme for Equity in Reproductive Medicine and Maternal Health Research focuses on understanding maternal risk factors: Patient and health provider roles in the prevention and management of preeclampsia and eclampsia (PE/E) in Kano State, Nigeria. Ferring’s research has revealed gaps in PE/E management among healthcare workers and, in some cases, poor facility readiness. Therefore, effective management of these conditions is crucial, particularly at the primary health care (PHC) level, where most pregnant women receive their antenatal care (ANC).
